 Description

I have built a mob trap around y 90 (as can be viewed in the attached image), which does not spawn mobs even when the surrounding caves are lit, you are 25 blocks away, and the server is cycled between PEACEFUL and NORMAL modes to ensure mobs can spawn.

I imported the entire thing into creative using MCEdit, and determined when x and z are positive, the trap works perfectly. When x and z are negative, it does not work at all. When one is positive and the other negative, some orientations of the trap work, and not others.

This has been in minecraft since at least 1.2

I've attached the save where the screenshot is from, and you can find the trap at the coordinates from the image.

Still in version 14w28a.

Is this still a concern in the latest Minecraft version 14w08a? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

@Talven81 It is still a concern but know one ever updated the version number

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version 1.7.2 / Launcher version 1.3.4 or later? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

Confirmed Pretty much in 1.6.2, however I'm seeing 1 or two mobs compared to 50 :/

Can we get a confirmation of whether this happens in 13w10a and an update to the affected versions?

Comment by Tails [ 31/Dec/12 ]
