 Description

When using a texture pack with items that render at higher than 16x16, the game is unable to render the 3d versions of that item properly. Examples include fancy Item drops, items in a frame, or items in your hand in first person.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Stick.png
2. Change the Image size to 32x32 using photoshop or similar. Save.
3. Open minecraft punch down a tree, breaking the wood down into sticks.
4. Place the stick in your hotbar as your active item and close the inventory.

When testing with an unusually high-res texture, it seems almost like it it trying to reproduce a 3d version with only 16 pixels, but this is uncertain.

In version 1.16.3 I'm having problems with hd textures held items.

Comment by michaelcurtis [ 30/Jan/13 ]

and it's not texturepack specific, so you don't need to tell everyone it doesn't work on your favorite texturepack

Comment by James Wright [ 29/Jan/13 ]

Already marked as Resolved for 1.5

Another screenshot to confirm this bug.

Glad to know this issue will be fixed. My report MC-1186 wasn't useless.

Vote this up so it gets fixed!

Might as well put this here, since where I originally added it got marked as Duplicate. In the screenshot: Phoenix Wright animations as the background of an item frame and a item, one held and one dropped. Of course as an Item Frame background, it is okay. Not rendered in 3D. But the animation looks crazy for the 3D rendered version.

Ok, sorry, I didn't mean to shout, just thought it would get more attention.

Comment by Kumasasa [ 17/Jan/13 ]

Please don't shout. That won't fix the bug faster, because if people don't get the concept of voting, shouting doesn't help either.
