So when you have several hoppers next to each other in a sorter... Items tempt to go flying... Because if the item doesnt fit in there it jumps ump and maybe skips it good place. So this makes sorting machines only work at 95% can you guys fix that? |

I have a lavablade-and-player-attack mob grinder with a hopper collecting the loot, and it keeps making the experience orbs bounce up into the lava. I think at least 2/3 of the experience is getting lost this way. |

If you want a stable item sorter, It's way easier now. You don't have to use water, just use hoppers instead of water. Just search for it on youtube/google |

Appears worse in 13w09c than before. My sorter is missing huge amounts of items now, compared to the previous snapshots. |

This is a regression for items getting stuck inside transparent blocks, when items are inside those, they fly out, and when items are on top, they bounce, even if nothing occupies the way for the item to fall into the hopper, you can occasionally see the item bouncing away from the hopper before disappearing. |

Annoying indeed, but it probably works as intended. One weird thing I have noticed though, is that xp also bounces when it is on a hopper. |

That's nonsense... It makes every thing really unreliable. So it shouldn't be intented behaviour. |

I think thats why its called a "Hopper" |

Yeah but i finally got a proper way of tiling the sorters as i shown in my video... but because of this behaviour it aint possible to get that working 100 percent |

|
For now you can use detours and space between the hoppers. Are you using water to transport the items? |
| Comment by Thimo Franken [ 08/Jan/13 ] |
|
Yeah well this behaviour makes it impossible to have a 100% reliable tileable item sorting machine D: So mojang please improve our abilities and remove that hitbox thing |
| Comment by Ultimate Omicron [ 08/Jan/13 ] |
|
That happens because the hopper has a composite hitbox. The item tries to fall on the carved middle, but can't occupy that space due to the new item ejection code so it jumps. Similar behavior can be seen with the lower step of a stair block. |

What do you mean? |

Havent noticed this behavior are you sure its not jumping on a stair or half slab? Which is a different bug. |
