I had an snow biome near my spawn, it turned into different biomes.Theres an Extreme hills-swamp-river biome and everything is full of snow and ice that will melt.i have to walk very far to get a new snow biome. |

Xavier, that's how it works now. Biomes won't change on you. But the trick is getting pre-1.2 worlds, where that information wasn't saved, into the post-1.2 format with their biomes intact. Though I'm not actually sure what happens if you go directly from beta-1.8 to say, 1.4. There is a conversion process, but I don't know what it uses to determine the biomes. I've got a 1.8 world myself that got messed up by multiple biome changes, and it was exceedingly frustrating. I haven't tried importing my backups into 1.4 to see what would happen yet. |

If a biome is generated, then the biome should stay generated. otherwise, you could ruin someones world. Simply put, if it was put there then it should stay there. |

Before 1.2, biomes were recalculated every time it loaded the chunk, meaning that when the generation function changed, the biome in a chunk could change. Since 1.2, biomes are calculated once, and stored in the save file. Thus, even if the biome generation changes, existing worlds should not be altered. What we need is a conversion tool for old worlds that will calculate the biomes for the version the world was created in, and store it in the new format, so it won't get changed. |

These changes are normal as the biome generation and colors change with the updates. |

Have the same issues, but with an alpha world turning into a desert. |
