*What I expected to happen was I could go of and look for more iron and gold
Describe what you thought should happen here

*What actually happened was I had to stay at my furnace right next to it looking at each thing being smelted
Describe what happened here

Steps to Reproduce:
1 put coal and iron or gold in 64 or 16
2. Walk out of view of furnace or house
3. count total number or iron or gold to see if any has gone

Cannot reproduce.

The furnace simply stops smelting when going far away, but at any time the sum of ore + smelted product is always 64.

Do you mean in view of the furnace or within render distance?
