See attachments. It seems that light propagates into farmland blocks, so the getLightLevel(x,y+1,z) returns a value >= 9, so the growth mechanic starts. Greetings |

Farmland does not look very transparent. |

Wheat grows as long as the block directly above it is transparent. Farmland is a transparent block, thus the wheat is able to grow there. |
