 Description

At the same time I discovered MC-5481, I found out that wolves colors can be dyed in LAN by any user, not just their owner. I assume this also spreads to SMP as well. This means that users could grief wolf collars fairly easily.

That makes since. However, MC-3845 would need to be fixed at the same time to prevent disappearing dogs depending on users being online or not.

I'm sorry but what's the difference between killing a dog or redying it? If MC-3795 will be fixed as they intend to by removing the dogs while the owner is gone, there won't be a way to redye them.

No, this isn't mentioned at all within that report or the related MC-3845. Can this please be reopened and connected as a "relates" as it's a completely separate bug?
