| Description |

When i breed two cows i sometimes get two babies. This is easy for me to track as i keep the cows in pens with two cows per pen. when i return to collect the experience i sometimes find two babies in the pen. I've checked and there isn't any missing from other pens, so it's not likely them glitching through walls. How to re-create: Breed two cows/animals. |

No answer, assuming no longer an issue. |

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version 1.6.2 / Launcher version 1.1.3 ? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. |

Or only the calf would be duplicated; not the click (I was only carrying 6 wheat, so indeed, it's not that). Oh well, at least I have some more meat chomp chomp |

If it was simply right clicking twice by accident the two wheat should be consumed instead of one, kinda like how two steaks/golden apples/bread/whatever is eaten by accident sometimes. Since i use the exact amount of wheat and yet have more babies it's probably not that, but thanks for the help |

I have a cow farm with 6 cows (normally) came to see 7. killed the extra; fed them 6 wheat, killed 3 adults and.... there are 4 calves now. I'm playing 1.5.2 by the way. |

O.k, i'll try it a few more time myself then (Haven't really bred them since as i have a few stacks of each food type and don't really need more yet). Will see if it was just bad luck or something that last time in 1.5.1 |

Well, I was clicking pretty close to the first one while trying to make the second one so I think you're right about that. Going to test it out with food. ALSO going to spawn them away from each other to eliminate the spontaneous birth. Edit: Tested with cows, pigs, and sheep and didn't see any double births. Then again I am using 1.5, not 1.5.1 |

I think i can account for you baby sheep joshua, did you accidently right click the sheep with it's own spawn egg when creating them? Can't remember when that feature was added but you can spawn babies by right clicking the animal with it's own spawn egg. As for me i test this in my single player world (survival) not my creative world. given that i only ever get extra cows in the cow pens (8 pens 5x4 area each with 2 cows per pen). So the extra babies must of come from breeding |

I checked it out and I'm getting the same thing. However, when spawned from eggs, they'll randomly spawn babies. Sometimes there will be two. It's random though, maybe all of them will, maybe none. What I did was a similar step to Stewart: 1. Create a bunch of holding pens (be they fences or just a pit in the ground). 2. use the egg to create two cows in each one. 3. check the pens to see if any have spontaneously given birth. Checked with sheep, didn't see any (though the egg DID spawn a baby sheep), checked with pigs and saw one. I was going to make a bug report about animals randmonly giving spontaneous birth using egg, but I'm not sure if that is a feature or not. |

Dunno, haven't played in a while now, just waiting on them getting the next patch for 1.5 out before i try anything. Edit: 22/3/13: I just tried this in the new 1.5.1 patch and i got 9 babies out of 16 cows so at least one pair produced twins. side note - wouldn't mind this just being made into a feature if it was occasional like the breeding run i just tried |

I am seeing this too (it is especially noticeable with snapshot 13w04a). I have seen it in survival mode, and I did some creative mode experiments to reproduce it. Steps: I get more than 8 calves within 3 rounds of this. |
