 Description

I just updated to 1.4.6 and I made some firework rockets. When I launched them, they made the explosion sound but the explosion is not visible. I tried several variations.(The white trail the rocket leaves as it flies up does appear)

When I first tried fireworks in the snapshot, they worked fine.

PS: why isnt the rocket in the creative menu?

The firework particles are in the particles file, so older packs might not have them.

alright, I understand.

Well if it does not work with a certain texture pack, it's a texture pack issue, therefore this ticket is invalid.

  • Any texture pack issues need to be addressed to the texture pack creator.

no I dont. I tried to use someone elses texture pack, and fireworks do appear with that one. but when i select my own texture pack, they dont appear. Is my texture pack missing some files?

Comment by Tails [ 30/Dec/12 ]

Do you have Optifine installed?

Comment by Alex de la Cruz [ 30/Dec/12 ]

after some testing, i think i found the problem! firework explosions dont appear when i use a custom texture pack, only when i use the default one. any idea why?

Comment by Alex de la Cruz [ 30/Dec/12 ]

well, this is really odd. i just tried the fireworks again in a clean copy of 1.4.6 and they worked! i will try it again in my actual 1.4.6 copy and see if they work there. i will also try them in a 1.4.7 copy

I have been away this whole week and unable to post the crash report. I will do it tonight as soon as I get home

No crash report attached -> Incomplete.

Comment by Mustek [ 23/Dec/12 ]

Can you hold and release F3+C ingame, this will induce a crash.
Please upload the crashlog here.

no, of course it does not blend with the sky! the sky is black and the fireworks are several different colors. And obviously I have particles on.

Comment by Anon Ymus [ 21/Dec/12 ]

Perhaps the firework burst just blends in with the sky. Also, are your particles turned on?

Comment by Alex de la Cruz [ 21/Dec/12 ]

yes

Comment by Anon Ymus [ 21/Dec/12 ]

Was the launching place open to the sky?

Comment by Alex de la Cruz [ 21/Dec/12 ]

I tried launching them by hand and also with a dispenser, both times the explosion was not visible.

As I already said, I crafted my own star and I used many variations (colors, burst, trail, twinkle, large ball, star shape, head shape......) and none of them were visible.

Comment by Andy Fewtrell [ 21/Dec/12 ]

This will happen with the default "Firework star" that has no color or properties assigned. You cant spawn it with commands (that I know of) or use them straight from the creative inventory.

Comment by Anon Ymus [ 21/Dec/12 ]

Are you launching them by hand or with a dispenser?

Comment by Alex de la Cruz [ 21/Dec/12 ]

did you read the description?

Comment by Anon Ymus [ 21/Dec/12 ]

You can take up the fact that the firework rocket is not in the inventory with Dinnerbone.

Comment by Alex de la Cruz [ 21/Dec/12 ]

I crafted my own star.

and i dont see why the star is in the creative menu but the rocket is not. In the snapshot the rocket you got from the creative menu was just a basic rocket.

Comment by Anon Ymus [ 21/Dec/12 ]

The rocket is not in the Creative menu because there are so many different combinations it would be impossible to list them all, and none should be singled out. Did you craft your own star or did you use the one in the creative inventory?
