[MC-5006] Silk Touch on a pick no longer works on glass Created: 19/Dec/12  Updated: 19/Dec/12  Resolved: 19/Dec/12

Windows 7 64bit, connecting to a 1.4.6 prerelease server.

 Description

When using a silk touch pick on a placed glass block, the breaking animation plays but the block doesn't break (the block doesn't drop as an item either). The block itself remains where it was previously – either it pops back into the clients' view, or if it appears to no longer be there, trying to place another block in the same place makes the original glass block re-appear.

Silk touch shovels still appear to break the blocks successfully (& drop the glass block as an item).

Is silk touch on a pick still supposed to allow breaking/collection of glass blocks?

Resolved for you with the default template:

This ticket is invalid as it relates to a modded or 3rd party client/server.

  • Any non-standard client/server build needs to be taken up with the appropriate team, not Mojang.
  • Any plugin issues need to be addressed to the plugin creator.
  • This site is for addressing issues related to the base unmodded MineCraft.

Not sure if reporters can close their own issues – feel free to close this as a non-issue.

I've tried a few more permutations on this as well; it seems to work fine with local SSP, local SMP & remote SMP with the vanilla jars.

When adding the latest Forge, the issue starts happening. So, a forge bug, not a MC bug

Cannot reproduce, neither SSP or SMP

Unable to reproduce. Silk Touch pick works fine on glass and glass drops items.
