Ever since I updated to the Pre Release, I have noticed a huge drop in FPS whenever I play a Superflat and slimes are around. |

In all the time Si have spent making that pack, I have never run into this until now. It is not HD and I have also tried the default, it did not help. |

Try using the Default textures and see if it still happens. If the texture pack is HD it is considered a mod. |
