When the Pick Block function is used on a map inside an item frame, you get a copy of that map that never updates your position. That is, the arrow or dot marking your position on or relative to the map never moves on a Pick Blocked map. This only happens sometimes; I have no idea what makes certain Pick Blocked maps work and others not. |

I've got a map that has no pointer or dot when I'm in my home chunk. If I take it out of my home chunk the dot appears and the arrow appears when I get to the area where it was made. When I return to my home chunk the dot disappears again. The only unusual thing about the map is that it's entirely water (although you can see a few underwater features). I made it from a stack of empty maps and all of the other ones seem normal. I've tried having it in my hot bar or not having it in my hot bar as I travelled to see if that affected anything (it doesn't seem too) It's 1:1 zoom, just like the others. Putting in and taking it out of an item frame doesn't seem to do anything, nor does logging out and in. 1.18.1 Single player. |

Got a similar problem since 1.5 until now (1.7.2) |

Still an issue, however I don't know if this is a "pick block" issue - but resetting the server host application will bring back your white location arrows for a while. This seems to happen with copied maps a lot. See comments in |

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. |

This could be an issue where the map pointer is hiding below the map. |
