 Description

Upon entering the End in creative mode, the Ender Dragon will try to attack the player instead of acting neutral as other mobs do with creative players present. It's easy to see when the dragon attacks you by shooting ender charges/fire balls. The fact that a dragon charges at you may be easier to reproduce in the Overworld, but I'm not sure.

To reproduce:

  1. Go to the End.
  2. Destroy an end crystal.
  3. Wait and see if the Ender Dragon shoots an ender charge. If you hear it shoot, wait and see the charge was shot directly at your player position.

Note: With MC-84095 not being fixed, this can be much harder to reproduce.

It's back in 19w08b.

Human please stop commenting on old/resolved tickets.

This is not a bug. You have to experiment with world difficulty, and you have to practice fighting the Ender Dragon before opening your world to others allowing cheats. If you do not have knowledge on how to defeat the Ender Dragon attacking you, you would likely die and have to leave your world to disconnect other players.

Ticket is yours, please update it.

Comment by Emoluvjd2 [ 18/Aug/14 ]

Still is not fixed in 14w34b.

Comment by Anon Ymus [ 09/Aug/14 ]

It will attempt to attack the player constantly, destroying blocks and being a general nuisance.

Comment by qmagnet [ 09/Aug/14 ]

How is the dragon hostile? It is not damaging you. When you attack it, it doesn't turn around and fly into you immediately. This is likely normal AI for the dragon.

Comment by Itouch2 [ 01/May/14 ]

Confirmed for 1.7.5, 1.7.9 and 14w17/8

Comment by [Mod] Ezekiel (ezfe) [ 03/Feb/14 ]

Is this still a concern in the latest Minecraft version 14w05b? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

Comment by Tails [ 31/Dec/12 ]

Confirmed.

Half of me wants to say that this works as intended and the other half wants to say that it's a really annoying bug. Either way, I have a feeling that Mojang is familiar with this behavior, so it probably works as intended.

Comment by FireHunterX [ 13/Dec/12 ]

Can confirm for 12w50a and 1.4.5.

Has been around for a while. Pretty annoying if building in the End.

Comment by Pickaxe727 Minecraft [ 13/Dec/12 ]

Confirmed for 12w49a, 1w50a
