 Description

The bug

If a neutral mob is attacking you, quitting and rejoining the world will cause them to become neutral again. This includes at least Wolves, Endermen, Iron golems and Zombie Pigmen.

However, both Bees and Piglins are unaffected by this bug.

For all the same mobs?

Comment by Southpaw1496 [ 31/Oct/20 ]

I can reproduce this in 1.16.4rc1

Comment by Fabian Röling [ 29/Oct/20 ]

Then please create a new report with proper reproduction steps and comment its ID here so that it can be marked as related. And of course search first if it has been reported already for recent versions.

This bug returned. It affects enderman.

Comment by Leo Holdiman [ 05/Jun/20 ]

It's been 8 years. 8 YEARS, and finally fixed.

Comment by user-f2760 (Inactive) [ 13/May/20 ]

This is a really easy fix: simply serialise the attack target memory.

Confirmed for 20w20a.

Comment by Jon1337 [ 27/Jul/18 ]

Confirmed in 18w30b

Comment by Fabian Röling [ 21/Oct/16 ]

Pigmen are still affected. I think you have to be in a different chunk than they are when you quit and re-enter the world.

Comment by Alexander [ 21/Oct/16 ]

Confirmed for 16w42a, but only for Enderman and Wolf. Pigmen remain aggravated upon reloading.

I suggest removing "Pigmen" from the description and only leaving the other two.

Comment by Fabian Röling [ 23/Jul/16 ]

Tested with single pigman. Result: Only becomes peaceful again if it was a certain distance away when relogging.

Still in 1.9-pre4, but is it even worth reporting since it's unfixed from MC 1.4? I won't bother from now on if they just ignore it.

Wolves still suffer from this in 16w03a

Comment by John Smith [ 16/Jan/16 ]

Still a problem with wolves in 16w02a

Comment by BoxFigs [ 28/Aug/14 ]

Still occurs in 1.8-pre3.

I think that Wolves and Endermen storing the UUID of the player they are angry at would fix this.

Comment by qmagnet [ 09/Aug/14 ]

Confirmed for Endermen and Wolves in 14w32d. Pigmen remain hostile.

Comment by Omnimetatron [ 17/Feb/14 ]

Confirmed to still be an issue in snapshot version 14w07a. I've replicated this in SMP as well as SSP with Zombie Pigmen.

Comment by [Mod] Ezekiel (ezfe) [ 03/Feb/14 ]

Is this still a concern in the latest Minecraft version 14w05b? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

Comment by FireHunterX [ 27/Mar/13 ]

Pigmen seem to be an exception, as sometimes they are still hostile.

Comment by Kumasasa [ 13/Dec/12 ]

Confirmed.
