 Description

It is no longer possible to interact with blocks while sneaking. This has presumably been done to give a way for blocks to be placed against other blocks like crafting tables. However, there are some side effects to this change which may be unintended.

The following actions are no longer possible while sneaking, and probably should be (NB this is not an exhaustive list):

  • Entering a bed
  • Opening/closing a door
  • Clicking a button or lever

Are we 100% sure that beds, doors and switches were meant to be included? It seems unlikely, from a gameplay point of view.

Thank you for the info about being able to interact when not holding an item, very useful.

This is working as intended and therefore duplicate of MC-4196.
It makes it possible to place blocks on the bed/door/switch without the need of other helping blocks. If you want to interact with these objects while sneaking, you can do this by not holding anything in hand.
