Put the summary of the bug you're having here

What I expected to happen was...:
Expect that slime would make the normal slappy noise.

What actually happened was...:
Slime slappy noise skips and stutters like a broken record

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Simply mining at night. Slimes start spawning and making an awful racket.

Apparently fixed.

Maybe the soundfile is corrupt on your harddisk.

Please try:

  • Quit the game
  • Delete the folder .minecraft/resources/
  • Reenter the game
  • Minecraft will re-download the soundfiles (may take several minutes)

I really don't think that's it. The sound is incredibly cacophonous and obviously bugged. Like I said, it sounds like a record being scratched and skipping. I may try adding a video of it if I can.

Big slimes make other noise as small slimes since 1.4, may that be your issue ?
Kill all big and middle slimes, the sound should change.
