| Description |

I go through an ocean with some wolves I've tamed, and they disappear.. It doesn't matter if I swim, or if I use a boat, the wolves always disappear, and it bothers me, because even though I'm playing single player alone, I still like to have a companion. =) Do not know if this effects cats or not, have not tried with cats, because they don't attack things.. Wolves do not teleport to you when you get to land, either. =[ Have not tried in creative. |

Wolves require a solid block to teleport to, since water is not solid they are unable to follow you. |

Some things I have noticed with this bug is: They can't teleport in the ocean.. If you get close, but not close enough, they'll just merrily bounce in the water, looking at you. And finally, they're extremely slow in the water. At this point, I'm better off abandoning my poor canine companions in the ocean, if I want to go anywhere, then hope I am lucky enough to find more to tame. But you were right, going back, they'll be there. |

Try going back to where you were - sometimes wolves have issues following the player if their chunk gets unloaded before they can teleport to the player |
