This is a screenshot made from the ladder inside of a mountain. Needless to say, the sun shouldn't be seen there. The game version was 14w08a. |
| Comment by WojtekPod [ 22/Feb/14 ] |
Yes, the problem is still there in 14w08a. |
| Comment by [Mod] Ezekiel (ezfe) [ 21/Feb/14 ] |
Is this still a concern in the latest Minecraft version 14w08a? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. |

There have been a number of similar issues reported, but most of them are just about the clouds forming underground. This is the only one I can find that clearly describes how everything above the clouds is invisible, replaced by open skies, when you're within the clouds. |
| Comment by Matthew Messinger [ 15/Dec/12 ] |
@Richard: It's a similar issue. It's not that you can see the sky behind the clouds. It's that you can't see what's behind them. It instead replaces them with the sky/sun/moon. Load up the world in 1.3.2 and tell me if you can see behind the clouds? |
| Comment by Richard Cox [ 14/Dec/12 ] |
@Matthew: all of your screen shots have sky behind them. This issue is when cloud form below ground (eg. when using super flat with more than 128 layers). It will not happen with non-super flat world generation because the clouds are always above ground. |

Also makes it so anything above the clouds are invisible. As you can see, it worked in 1.2.5 and 1.3.2, but not in 1.4.5. All jars are vanilla. |
| Comment by Matthew Messinger [ 14/Dec/12 ] |
Works as normal in 1.2.5 and 1.3.2. Only works in 1.4.5 when above cloud layer. |
