If you press F3+H, it wont show negative damage values on weapons, armor etc

Jeb stated that it was removed in 13w09b. It was part of the fix for ghost items.

Negative damage values were unintended, see MC-10112.

No, no i think negative damage is expected and it would be a shame if it was removed because many mapmakers use it to create weak tools what wont break! It also just works at weapons, tools and armor and doesn't works at regular blocks/items so it must be expected!

Ali, can I change the bug to "give command allows negavite damage" ? The F3+H ist just a side effect, also the damage bar is not shown.

as example if you say /give randomplayername 268 1 -200

that would give you a wooden sword with 260 uses instead of 60 uses! You can try it by yourself! Because the damage value shows the damage at weapons and negative damage makes them hold longer than they usually would! But if you create a sword or a piece of armor with negative damage and press F3+H, it wont show something like [Durabillity 260/60], it will just show nothing!
