 Description

I was trying to make a large map of the area around my house, so i made nine maps and went around the area right-clicking. After each one, i would go back and put it in its frame. But after the third one the first went blank. I tried it in creative as well and it still happened. Please help!

No response for over a year.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. If this has been done, we can reopen the issue.

Keep in mind that the "Resolved"-Status on this ticket just means "Answered", and that we are waiting for further information on whether this issue still exists or not. We will reopen it as soon as the requested information has been deliviered.

I can recreate this in 1.6.x versions and the 1.7 snapshots.

Place a 3x3 area on the wall of maps. Log off. Log back on. If you have a copy of the maps in your inventory still, the maps will load just fine. If not, some will load, others wont. The ones that will load do so very slowly.

Oh, yeah I forgot to tell that, activate it before you scale it

Comment by Chris Dusto [ 29/Apr/13 ]

Old scale is intended behaviour if you didn't activate the map

confirmed for 1.5.1 Here's a very easy way to reproduce:

create a map put in in a crafting table and put paper around it. Now take the scaled map out of the crafting table, it is empty. When you log off and log back in, you'll see the map has it's old scale (using F3+H)

I haven't seen this happen in 1.5 yet, but I'm not sure if it ever will appear again, since it occurs on random moments.

Can't reproduce in 1.5

Tested and proven. Try reloading the world whilst standing in front of the maps, it should reload the maps and be fine.
