| Description |
|
When your head is in Webs, Vines, Sugar Cane or a Sign, hostile mobs will not attack you or explode until you leave them. Mobs that are pursuing you before you enter any of the blocks listed above sometimes totally forget about you once you get into them. The following mobs are affected by this:
The screenshots below show multiple different mobs trying to get me when I'm in the webs. Note that the spiders seemed to notice me but still didn't attack me. The screenshot with 2 webs in it is the web setup I use to reproduce this bug. It also works with only the top web. Note: Yes, I understand that this bug reporter is not for modded clients, as you might have noticed the coordinates in the top left corner of the majority of the screenshots, but this has ALSO been tested in Vanilla Minecraft (Deleted and re-installed the ENTIRE FOLDER!). It was easier to not have to use a different Minecraft every time I took a picture because I was playing at the same time and didn't feel like switching out every 5 minutes. |

To be honest, I was a bit conflicted about fixing this one. I quite like the idea that monsters can't see you when you are inside a block like double grass and such. On the other hand, there is no easy way to fix it for some blocks and keep the hiding concept for other blocks without adding a lot of code. For now, it is fixed, but some of the cases might creep again in a later version once we discussed the gameplay implications. |

Happens a lot more frequently now that there's lots of 2-block tall flowers and grass. If mobs themselves are in these blocks they still can't see you! |

Is this still a concern in the latest Minecraft version 14w20b? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. |

Can't get that one to work. They run away from me regardless of whether they're in grass or not. |

also ocelots don't see you and don't run away from you when they are in tall grass |

This is true. With the other blocks though it causes this glitchy behavior. |

well mobs can't see you through vines so i think the vine thing may be intended |

Done with testing blocks and mobs. Everything is covered now. |

Fences are a possibility, though it may be hard to tell because they are solid blocks. |

Actually might even apply to any other non-fullsize block like lonely fence posts etc. |

It's funny because Spiders and Cave Spiders have no movement hamper through webs, yet they can't get to me when I'm standing in one. |

So it does... |
