Dropping items on fences shoots the items in an odd direction.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

I can confirm this bug.
I can also confirm this is NOT resolved in 1.4.6
I have also attached links to screenshots and a testing environment.

Seems to be fixed in 1.4.5 although items still bounce on cauldrons and stairs
