 Description

When digging sand without a tool, occasionally a sound will play that isn't any of the sandX.ogg sound files. Re-downloading .minecraft\resources and updating LWJGL doesn't change it.

That was also what I found. It does appear even if you just hold down while digging the block, though

Ok, I think I can reproduce this, its best done just by quickly clicking a sand block and releasing. Its clearer anyway as its not overlaid with adjacent block breaking sounds.

Done. My apologies

Sand block seems to use dig.wood for its block breaking sound.

It's difficult to describe, I can try uploading a short video showing it. One thing I notice though: The sound played when breaking the block is one of the four sand.ogg files. What sounds are supposed to be played when in the process of digging (damaging the block)?

What does the mystery sound actually sound like? I've tried it here but didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.
