 Description   

boats, some parts of a chicken, some parts of a pig (other parts of mobs appear invisible) these all appeared as the black terrain.png image one time and I have no clue how it could be caused

This is just a lighting bug. Has happened to me before. Just restart Minecraft or your Computer.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

I can confirm this bug exists across multiple devices. I don't have any screenshots to prove it, but on rare occasions animals have had black sides.

That was a boat but the texture got messed up. Thats the terrain.png image for minecraft's files.

Never happened to me before. Tell me, why does 2012-11-15_19.05.36.png seem very small and stretched blocks? This is minecraft. You can't have blocks straight and slanted. It seems like you are using a mod or different texture pack.
