Put the summary of the bug you're having here What I expected to happen when I started to play the game was the game to run great or better just like before the update. However, after updating the game to 1.4.4, it seems slower and I am getting only 5-20 fps; them being nearer to 5-10. Before updating, I was getting 25-35 fps on the same settings consistently. I have had almost the exact same problem. Around 5 to 15 minutes into playing Survival I have extreme lag, down to 0 FPS and 0 Chunks, and I cannot continue playing. Exiting the game altogether fixes the problem for the moment, but then it pops up again later. Exiting out to main menu does not fix the lag. Interestingly it didn't happen while I was building my castle, but happens all other times. Started happening with 1.4.4 update and continued to 1.4.5 My comp stats are the same as Tyler's except I have Invidia GEforce GTX 260 M. All drivers reportedly up to date. I have it happens at some pretty inoppurtune moments, i have died a few times when a creeper shows up behind me and all of a sudden it lags. Yet I still play this game. Cause its awesome. Please please help. |

That's the first thing I thought but why did fps drop that much after only updating Minecraft? From about 20-22 to 8-10 fps. Of course the difference between Windows and Ubuntu suggests that Windows drivers need more work but maybe Minecraft needs better optimization too? I can't say, I mentioned the fps drop after the update just in case this info is of any value to the development team. |

If you get a reasonable FPS under Ubuntu than this issue is a windows driver issue ? |

I noticed a huge fps drop with Intel integrated graphics (Intel G840 cpu latest drivers) after updating from 1.4.2 to 1.4.4 and 1.4.5 The game is unplayable (8 fps average) so I tried Ubuntu 12.10 and 12.04 after updating to 1.4.4 and 1.4.5 (in Windows 7). In Ubuntu I get ~32 fps average. Just saying because I have no clue what's wrong with this issue. |

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. |

Some more news about this. I reverted back to 1.4.3 and it has gone back to wonderful (for me) fps. Constant numbers in the high 30's. This has got to mean that it is this update. Hopefully, the lag problem gets fixed and I'll be able to update my minecraft file. |

I'm glad it isn't just me. It has only gotten worse from update to update. |

Yes. I went onto their website and updated it with their automatic updater. After it rebooted, I went back to the site and it told me it was up to date; just to make sure. |

This might be an issue relating to your graphics. There have been several bug reports that seem to link to Intel HD Graphics. Is the driver for this up to date? |

Sure thing. Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64x, Intel dual core i3-2310M @ 2.10GHz, 4(3.78 usable) GB Ram, Intel integrated HD Graphics 3000 with 1.83 GB. |

Could you describe your computer hardware? |

Could it possibly be my computer and hardware, even though it was fine before? |

No, nothing besides my minimap. And that "before" fps is with the minimap running. |

Did you perhaps have optifine (or other mods) installed before you updated? |
