In both gamemodes, placing a piston while facing east then powering it will allow you to talk through the piston head. What I expected to happen was...: What actually happened was...: Steps to Reproduce: |

I tested in 16w02a and the current 16w03a, both in all cardinal directions. I did not run into the bug. |

So this is still happening in 16w02a? |
| Comment by Ashley5478 [ 19/Jan/16 ] |

Incorrect, Piston arms don't let go pass through when facing directions with the exception of facing west. Which means only Facing West will let player go through. |

Fixed somewhere between 15w34d and 15w44b, probably with |

Can't reproduce anymore in 15w45a, was probably fixed earlier. |

Ok, got it. |

Can confirm fixed for pistons facing east, but it now occurs with a piston facing west. |

The piston in the image you just posted is facing east, however the faulty piston is facing west (it is placed while facing east). |

Derp. Meant 1.8.1-pre1, not 1.8-pre1. |
| Comment by Magnavode [ 16/Oct/14 ] |
|
Only 1.8.1-pre1 has the adjusted hitbox (not 1.8). 1.8.1-pre2 is back to the old malformed hitbox. Edit: version fix 1.8-pre1 => 1.8.1-pre1 |

Was this fixed in 1.8 or 1.8-pre1 ? |
| Comment by Magnavode [ 15/Oct/14 ] |

Can confirm what George Gates commented. The piston arm's hitbox has been adjusted, but is still malformed. |
| Comment by George Gates [ 15/Oct/14 ] |
|
Tested in 1.8.1-pre1, and I was not able to recreate it. Piston arms facing west (according to the 1.8 debug menu's block info) have a differently-shaped hitbox than the other arms, but none of them can be walked through anymore from what I tried. |

Confirmed in 14w04b: behavior appears to be identical to previous versions. |

Is this still a concern in the latest Minecraft version 14w04b? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. |

Also in 1.6.2; I just tested it. It's very easy to do if you walk north or south into the piston arm, then turn to face the piston box a bit (it never works when turning to face the arm). |

|
Tested it in 1.6.1, still here. |

confirmed in 13w21b. Walking south allows player (in any gamemode) and some mobs to pass through the "arm". Walking north will only allow player to pass through if they jump near the piston first. |
| Comment by Marios [ 01/Mar/13 ] |
|
This bug breaks farms like the tripwire enderman farm because mobs get stuck inside the piston arm, so the pistons are constantly powered (because the mob steps on the pressure plate) and never retract. Voted. |

Confirmed to still happen in 13w09b. I first found out about it by falling through while walking on top. XD EDIT: I meant b. |
