It is an issue with biomes creating striped biomes. See Issue 5737: https://mojang.atlassian.net/browse/MC-5737

I also am unable to upload screenshots, except as attachments. I get redirected to oracle.com whenever I clcik the Attach screenshot button. Where do I report that?

I see similar issues. These include invisible cacti, and it seems, invisible village blocks. Note in the screengrab how some of the doors seem to be floating in midair? That's a new variation I've never seen before.

I have recreated this on three different seeds now using a vanilla install with this new snapshot and have never encountered this before - ever...

Snapshot = 13w01b
Seed = 8542012492896568057

Attached screenshot will give location.

Would not let me do it as a screenshot, so here is the file...

i tried to regenerate it and i found it normal

I'm just saying what I know. I may be wrong.

I tried to reproduce this in both 1.4.2 and 1.4.4 with the given seed and position. But the village is not damaged. See my screenshot above. The only problem are the floating torches in 1.4.4 but as said this is bug MC-2512.

Comment by Joël Fivat [ 14/Nov/12 ]

This is the first time I see part of houses erased by chunks, I believe this is a bug. I also never saw any other structures cut by chunks. Definitely not something "normal"

Comment by Simons Mith [ 14/Nov/12 ]

What? 'Not a bug'? If only half a house generates when a whole house is supposed to generate, then that's a bug! There may be unavoidable technical reasons for why that happens, but that's beside the point. If this is to be closed, at least close it as 'won't fix', and put terrain/village generator improvements as a future feature request/refinement.

The misplaced torches got their own bug, see MC-2512. The rest is just how the world generator works. Jeb explained this once. This can happen depending on how the chunks are created. An adjacent chunk may not know he is intended to create parts of a house. Edit: I don't think this should be treated as a bug, it should be closed. Sorry.
