| Description |

I tried to set a large forest on fire in my Minecraft world, but when I lit the trees the fire would just linger and not do anything. |

Or maybe you should just reboot your computer now |

Guess what? I went into my .minecraft and tried to delete all the folders/files, and guess what stayed? The screenshots folder. I deleted all the screenshots in the folder successfully, but the folder still remained. That makes me think that someone or something is scanning that folder. |

In processes, yes. It shouldn't give any problems. |

Like, in the processes tab? Isn't that dangerous? |
| Comment by Mustek [ 13/Nov/12 ] |
go to you task manager (ctrl+shift+escape) and kill any running instances of java(w).exe |

Wait! When I force updated to show you my game without mods, and I tried to change my .minecraft back to the one I copied so I wouldn't loose anything, it said that it can't do that because the folder was in use. I didn't have my game running, either. |

It's beautiful! Thank you! |

It worked! |

Can you please do "/gamerule doFireTick true" without the quote symbols. |
| Comment by Nick Bennett Smith [ 13/Nov/12 ] |
I uploaded it |

Okay, let's try this again: do this command exactly as typed below: and take a screenshot of the response. |

It didn't work! I uploaded a screenshot. |

Wait... I have Rei's minimap. I set a lot of waypoints. I don't know if I can risk loosing them. |

Uggg. Ok. I spend a lot of time downloading mods, but ok. |
| Comment by Mustek [ 13/Nov/12 ] |
Can you try without any mods? Otherwise I have to mark this issue as invalid. |
| Comment by Nick Bennett Smith [ 13/Nov/12 ] |
Nope. My own world. |

It was originally off, so that was what I thought the problem was, until I tried to set a tree on fire again. |

Are you on a server? |
| Comment by Nick Bennett Smith [ 13/Nov/12 ] |
I mean /gamerule doFireTick |
| Comment by Mustek [ 12/Nov/12 ] |
sorry, /gamerule doFireTick |
| Comment by Nick Bennett Smith [ 12/Nov/12 ] |
I tried the /doFireTick command. That didn't work. |
| Comment by Nick Bennett Smith [ 12/Nov/12 ] |
As you can see, it's not spreading. (in picture) |
| Comment by Tails [ 12/Nov/12 ] |
Works fine for me, did you by chance disabled fire spread through /gamerule doFireTick false? |
| Comment by Mustek [ 12/Nov/12 ] |
can you type /doFireTick and tell me whether it returns true or false. |
| Comment by Nick Bennett Smith [ 12/Nov/12 ] |
If someone could downgrade to 1.4.2 and see if it happens to them, then that would help. |
| Comment by Nick Bennett Smith [ 12/Nov/12 ] |
I've also been seeing "ghost fires" on random trees in the swamp biome near my island. |
| Comment by Nick Bennett Smith [ 12/Nov/12 ] |
I was playing on hard mode because I thought that would make the fire worse. Then I turned it to peaceful just to see what would happen, and it was the same. |

What difficulty are you playing on? Fire spreads differently on each difficulty setting |
