 Description

If the inventory is left open when a potion effect wears off the it remains pushed over as if the affect balloon was still there until re-opened.

What I excepted:
When the affect wore off the inventory should have re-centered.
What happened:
The inventory remained pushed over.

To reproduce:
1. Obtain a splash potion (Regeneration/Poisen II (0:16) are the quickest).
2. Open the inventory and wait for it to wear off.
3. The Inventory remains pushed over when it should re-center.

Confirmed for 15w42a

I resolved that one as a duplicate of this one because there are a number of tickets marked as duplicates of this one and none marked as duplicates of the other.

Can confirm this is still a problem.

Marcono1234: I think we're using a separate ticket for the current iteration of this bug: MC-88913.

Finally fixed in 14w34d

This makes sense. Otherwise, you would be about to click something and suddenly the entire inventory would pop over to the left.

No, this is still an issue. A re-open would be appreciated.

Comment by Kumasasa [ 11/Nov/12 ]

Still an issue or can that be closed ?

Comment by 5ives [ 25/Oct/12 ]

Yes, thanks, updated. You're probably right too, never thought of that. Maybe the status should stay there but show 0:00 until re-opened.

Does it re-center if you close and then reopen your inventory?

I think it's probably for the best if it doesn't re-center immediately, because it could cause the player to click somewhere they didn't intend if the inventory window moves under their mouse cursor. Imagine trying to place an item near the edge of the inventory, and it moves suddenly on you, but you still click in the same place, resulting in you dropping the item you were holding on the ground – or maybe in a pit of lava.
