| Description |

Before the command system was rewritten in 1.3.1, /tell and all failed player commands would be logged to the console and server.log. This is no longer the case. All of these logging events can occasionally be somewhat spammy, but are always very useful to the SMP staff. |

No response for a number of months. |

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version 1.8.1 Prerelease 3 / Launcher version 1.5.3 or later? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. |

Although server /tell is now being logged, there is still no way for players to privately respond to the console. Prior to 1.3.1, all failed command by the user were logged so two-way private messaging to the console was possible. This is still impossible as of 14w02c. |

Such as /tell (only server /tell events are logged). All failed commands are still no longer being logged. Failed commands are still useful for external scripting. |

Yes, there are many events that are still no longer being logged in 1.6.2. |

Chat messages are now not being logged at all in snapshot 12w21a. All chat messages are being recorded to server.log as: [INFO] chat.type.text Apparently this has been fixed, though: |

This will actually have to get fixed, no matter what has been decided in the past. In particular the usage of /me, as that is identical to 'regular chat'. |
