 Description

When repairing weapons on anvil in Survival mode, you'll get the message "to expensive".
By switching to creative mode you will see the needed xp-Levels.

The Problem is that the Message "to expensive" will appear in survival mode, even if you have enough xp.

(Example in screenshots)

Used sword:
Sharpnes IV
Knockback II
Fire Aspect II
Looting III

others = same problem

I feel as though these enchantment changes weren't well illustrated to the community. Hell, most people thought it was a bug. Why weren't we told about this?

well killing the ender dragon gives you 100lvl +
this is a poorly designed system seeing as you have spent many hours getting the end game enchantments.
i agree that the more times you repair your stuff the more expensive it should get however i think the cap should increase to infinite.
that way if you have 100 lvls to enchant you super epic sword you can enchant it, capping it is just silly.

I only enchanted it once, I got all this in only one enchantment. I think it's more fair to let at least be all the once-enchanted tools repairable.
You said "From any tool that you get through "normal" enchanting, they will never be too expensive to repair"
I enchanted it normally, it should be repariable!

Those are pretty powerful enchantments, making it an extremely powerful sword. See my comments above.

I enchanted my sword with level 30 and got Fire Aspect II, Knockback II, Sharpness III and Looting II
This might be the enchantment jackpot, but I'm not able to repair it, and my sword still got half of his durability left!
So I should be able to repair it, but it sais it's always too expensive!

Well, this is a good Point!
seen in that way it makes sense. Thank you!

The more powerful a tool is, the more it costs to repair. From any tool that you get through "normal" enchanting, they will never be too expensive to repair unless you're under extreme circumstances (tool has 1 durability left and you won the enchanting jackpot).

Every time you repair a tool, it costs more to repair later.

With the above two facts in mind, it makes sense from a design perspective, to me at least, to have this cap. The more powerful a tool and the more you keep repairing it, eventually you just have to let it go and get a new one. We don't want the anvil to take away the need for crafting new tools and enchanting them; just postpone it.

Thank you for your fast reply.
But i think there should be no Limits, because the Players will only repair the "good enchanted things".
And if they have one of those, they want to keep it...
(thats my personal opinion)

"Too Expensive" refers to the level cap that it allows you to spend per transaction; 40 levels. Creative has no limit.
