This is still partly an issue. I met a zombie today brandishing a grey lilypad in 13w03a. However, |

Running on leaves produces grey particles. |

It is also gray when held by another Player in Multi Player. |

Yup. Well, it's been like this forever, actually, if I'm not mistaken. |

Ok, I think we do get the point |

My point is that it's TECHNICALLY supossed to be gray, which means that TECHNICALLY, this is not a bug. I know it makes more sense for it to be green, but TECHNICALLY it's gray. |

That may be true, but it still is slightly irrelevant to the bug itself. |

I agree with both of you, but, my point is that TECHNICALLY the block is gray, not green. |

@Gorga Serban: doesn't make much sense to me. See, if it appears correctly in first person view, as well as in the inventory hot bar, there's no real reason why it shouldn't in F5 mode. |

While Gorga's comment is correct to an extent, that still doesn't solve the bug. Holding in f5 mode should indeed show the proper colouration of the item in question, and it doesn't. This is confirmed. |

Ok, this is a little complicated to explain. You know how in different biomes you have different colored grass/fern? Well, the item texture is made gray because it has a variable. If you place fern in a jungle, it would have a different colour from fern in the desert. So, instead of making different coloured fern icons, they just make a gray one to make life simple. I think this is solved |
