This problem is the same as MC-129.

This Is A Bug Related To The SSP-SMP Integration, It Has Nothing To Do With Your Computer's Performance, These Are Loaded But Are Not Rendered, To Re-Render The Entire Visible Area, Press F3+A At A Relatively Same Time.

I'm not playing online.
That's not problem of my PC. No matter how long I wait, the textures doesn't load until I walk next to the transparent area.
This error doesn't affects all the gameplay, it's only on the beginning. And not all the times.

Related to MC-129. Can also confirm it happens regularly for me with both fast client and server and gigabit lan.

Comment by Kumasasa [ 04/Nov/12 ]

Same here.
SMP
Server & Client are both Intel Core 2 Quad 3 GHz with 6GB RAM under Win 7-64, Java 7U9-64, AMD Radeon 6700
LAN is 1GB

I'd like to say that neither server nor client nor the network is too slow...

There are 2 possibilites:
-Your machine is slow, so generation takes a long time
-If in SMP: The upload of the host is slow -> sending the chunks takes time
