 Description

Map Extend Client Crash

To Reproduce

Log on to a multiplayer server.

Place a new map in the center of a crafting bench, surrounded by paper in order to extend it.

Remove extended map.

Do not leave crafting bench. Place map in center of bench again. Surround with paper again.

Attempt to extend the map by removing it again.

Minecraft crashes.

Details

Tested for Creative Singleplayer (CSP), Creative Multiplayer (CMP), and Survival Multiplayer (SMP).

Multiplayer modes client crash.

The second map created in the world, upon second extension without leaving the crafting table, crashes Minecraft. Have not tried #0 extensions.

Does not crash the server.

The first extended map ends up in your inventory along with the paper being used for the second extension in SMP.

The first extended map is destroyed, along with the paper, in CMP.

Does not corrupt other items in inventory.

Screenshots notes

First picture is of the first map, not extended.

Second picture is the first-extended map in center again. Notice the map number has changed to #1 instead of #29.

Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

Cannot reproduce with 1.4.5.
Can you retest please with the newest version ?
