Ah I know what you mean, this is not the cause of lagg. If TNT explodes like, very far away from you. The blocks will get destroyed on the server, but for the client they are still there. So that creates ghost bocks. If you were to right click the blocks he was walking trough, you would see that the blocks would disappear.

Not sure if this is the same problem as Anthony Vaughn though...

One of my players saw something similar. A creeper had just exploded and destroyed some chunks of dirt and a bit of stone above us. I had begun repairing the mess when my friend dropped in from the ceiling. He immediately starting stating in chat that I was 'walking through walls'.

I apologize, but I should have asked him what materials I seemed to be passing through. I could not see these walls he was talking about. I did however ask him where the walls were. They did not seem to be where the creeper had exploded though and there hadn't been any dirt there in a long while. He could walk through it as well apparently. He did report some slight lag when he first joined the server and died once before making his way to my home. I asked him to relog to see if it would fix it and when he logged back in he said the walls were gone.

Haven't had any other players report anything similar yet.

Circumstances:
1.4.2pre-release
Multiplayer server, vanilla (of course)
Me: Connected through localhost
Player: Connected through IP.
Memory use (at the time): ~48%
Number of players online: 2 (including me)
Time from world generation to player reporting it: approx. 20 mins.
Player fixed it?: Yes, by relogging.

No not really. But in MP my friend dissapears when getting in and out of minecarts and i have to reload my chunks

Comment by Jesper the End [ 24/Oct/12 ]

Hmmm... sounds weird, I do have some glitching problems in SP when destroying a minecart when a mob is sitting in it. Is it like that?

Also it may help as well but we have a beacon block made out of Golden blocks And all the effects are on mark 2: speed 2, Haste 2,Strength 2, Jump boost 2,Regeneration, and Resistance 2

The Circumstances wouldnt help i think its just in general but all right. He would walk through cobblestone, Sandstone (all kinds), If it matters he had on some diamond armor (not a full set just chest and boots. It was almost night time. one of the times he glitched while in a jungle temple. i dont know if any of that helped. But its not just my one friend others were doing it too.!

I will continue trying to get that screenshot though

Comment by Anthony Vaughn [ 24/Oct/12 ]

I tried getting a screenshot. I had my friend walk around to try and catch a screenshot of him bugging out again. And NO jesper he wasnt on grass or did he fall through grass. that bug was Fixed unless they just dont fall through wooden planks. And also there was no lag. im running at 65 FPS normally.

He probably means this: https://mojang.atlassian.net/browse/MC-119

Comment by Ryan McNeilly-Smith [ 24/Oct/12 ]

It could be lag.
