duplicates MC-1745 player can jump over cobblestone walls Resolved
Confirmation Status: Unconfirmed
Game Mode: Survival

 Description

Basically you can jump over stone walls. I noticed it on a server I was playing on and reproduced it on single player in creative and survival modes.

What I expected to happen was...:
I expected to not be able to jump over this wall into a pen

What actually happened was...:
I was able to jump the wall quite easily

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Place down a cobble stone wall at least 2 meters in length
2. Walk towards the wall and jump
3. You will jump on to or over the wall as if it had a 1 meter hit box.

@Do It's Atlassian. I haven't used their JIRA in years so don't know what has changed but. Second Life has/had a JIRA that ran very well https://jira.secondlife.com/secure/Dashboard.jspa

@Chad No worries, this has just been an ongoing discussion (Wish we had a way to request JIRA changes). Sometimes it is difficult to find some things. However many people out there just aren't trying.

I typed in "Stone Walls" and I got nothing remotely close or recent. I'm aware that was probably a bad word choice and I probably could have tried some other variations. I didn't type in "jump over walls" because I thought that was too specific. Please don't judge me by this duplicate post; I did read the rules and I fully support searching before you post. I'm not trying to jam up the system, I really thought it hadn't been brought up.

In my defense, MC-1745 wasn't very clearly labeled. It doesn't have any tags and it's just called "Cobblestone Walls" and it doesn't show up in the search I made, even though I thought words like Stone and Walls would find a hit on something like Cobblestone Walls.

Talven, do you recall whether that was an Atlassian-hosted JIRA or a 3rd-party JIRA install? I think that would definitely slow the duplicate tickets down some...

Well, you cannot overlook the "Quick search" button in the title bar. Even it's just a quick search, it will find most of the issues.

@Do I will agree that better instructions should be provided for searching for related issues. Personally never had a problem with it myself, but have been floating around on JIRA's for a long time.

I have seen some sites that have customized their JIRA, that when submitting a new ticket, it will run a search automatically and come back with; "We found these tickets that may be related to your issue, are you sure you still want to submit this report?"

Chad, out of curiosity, what did you search for? I typed "jump over walls" in the Quick Search box and found MC-1745 and most of the issues linked to it. Maybe we need to have better instructions on searching...

I honestly did a search, I wasn't meaning to spam the system.

Dupe of MC-1745

Further testing in creative mode shows mobs still treat walls as unassailable and won't try to jump over them.
