When you enter your world, the screen quickly blinks a picture of your world then does the same for the loading screen then you spawn.

Sometimes when this bug occurs for me (in 1.8.x, not 1.9 snapshots where it's fixed), if the title screen flicker is slow enough (which it often is), I click to enter the world a second time. Then the world loads, but something occurs so that my player slowly sinks through the floor (and no amount of switching gamemode to survival helps) and falls into the void and dies. This is a different behavior than is reported at MC-48211, where they say entering the same world twice just causes the game to crash.

I wonder whether the newly closed bug MC-92079 in 1.9-pre3 is the same or a related underlying bug.

Still in 30c.

Comment by Forrest Herr [ 15/Jan/14 ]

Still does it in 14w02c.

Comment by [Mod] Ezekiel (ezfe) [ 15/Jan/14 ]

Is this still a concern in the latest Minecraft version 14w02c? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases.

You can crash the game if you open a second world during the loading process of the first using this bug (MC-3766).

Comment by Chris Koehler [ 03/May/13 ]

This has happened to me since about version 1.3. Also in older versions if you click the "play selected world" button, the click will not play until the game has flashed back to the menu.

Comment by Maarten Thijs [ 03/May/13 ]

still present in current snapshot. you load a world. the screen flashes the main menu 2 times.

Comment by [Mod] Ezekiel (ezfe) [ 02/May/13 ]

Reopening. I think this is a valid issue.

Comment by Kumasasa [ 11/Nov/12 ]

Mead, I think not. That effect was always in multiplayer and in singleplayer after the merger of singleplayer and multiplayer.

Comment by Mead [ 03/Nov/12 ]

It's just your video card initialising. Lots of games do that.

Comment by Gravity [ 24/Oct/12 ]

I too remember this occurring for quite a while.

Comment by Forrest Herr [ 24/Oct/12 ]

Mine has done that for a very long time.
