 Description   

Chickens born from an egg thrown into a wall sometimes get stuck in the block they got shot at dying from suffocation.

It has to do with mob's hitboxes getting slightly bigger when they grow up, so they can go partially into a block and suffocate or escape if it's made of a non-solid block like glass

This also happens to spiders when you use a spider egg on a wall in creative mode. Possibly related?

Maybe.

Basically my chicken farm has a tower floating in air in middle so I can something to throw eggs at. Once a while a chicken spawns mostly inside it and dies. Easy to do, just be creative and throw few of em into wall.
