Yeah, on other servers we can crash clients on command by sending an invalid block ID, troll level master. But this server we deliberately keep vanilla until a stable Bukkit comes out... and I am the mod, so if anyone's trolling me it's Jeb. Don't focus too much on the 244- the packet IDs are random, and more often than not they'll be unused IDs.

Not being helpful, but any mods trolling you? I love doing this to my players sometimes.

Hmm i think your using a hacking client, as packet id 244 refers to block breaking and renderparticle, and i never saw an autojoin button on vanilla.

We finally tracked this down on our servers - completely unmodded servers and clients are experiencing this issue (duplicate of MC-984), and it only happens when you login near an active beacon block.

Sec, Autojoin button? Running a mod?

What version is the server on?
