 Description

The colors of the sky (in the same place) during sunrise and sunset are more vivid when the player looks closer to the sun and less vivid when the player looks away. Perhaps this is intentional, but it is annoying to have to look in a certain direction to have a better understanding of the time.

If it happens even without night vision then the behavior is intended for night vision as well.

Comment by Sam Bone [ 04/Apr/16 ]

Okay, I feel stupid. I reported this about night vision, which amplifies it greatly, so, what about with night vision? Is that a bug?

I'm not sure that it's intended.....

Comment by Sam Bone [ 03/Dec/15 ]

Try it with night vision!

Comment by [Mojang] Grum (Erik Broes) [ 09/Nov/15 ]

Try looking at a sunset

Comment by Alexander [ 30/Oct/15 ]

Confirmed for 15w44b.

For those saying that "this is intentional", the colour of the sky (in real life) doesn't change depending on which way you turn your head. It becomes very apparent that this is a bug (and a bit annoying) if you simply do /time set 13000 and look at and away of the orange of the sunset.

Comment by Sam Benham [ 19/Mar/15 ]

that is intentional

Comment by [Mod] Sonicwave [ 28/Nov/14 ]

Confirmed for 1.8.1.

Confirmed for 1.7.5, 1.7.9 and 14w11

Comment by Oliver Kruse [ 21/Feb/14 ]

Confirmed in 14w08a. Looking to the west at sunset will let the sky look red (e.g. /set time 13000). The more you turn away towards e.g. the north, the less intensive the color at the initially position will be.

Comment by Marios [ 26/Sep/13 ]

Yes it affects Minecraft 1.6.4 and snapshot 13w38c.

Comment by Marios [ 05/May/13 ]

I can confirm this in 1.5.2 It doesn't make any sense to be a feature.

Comment by Daedalus Young [ 05/Feb/13 ]

How is this, which is clearly intended behavior, not being closed and marked as such, while the missing colours on the map, which is clearly an unfinished feature, is closed and marked as intended (again, which not entirely so)? This does not make sense, dear mods.

Comment by Nils Drescher [ 03/Nov/12 ]

So you want to tell me there is a difference in sky color if I look at it directly or look at it while seeing another person?
That doesn't make any sense.

Comment by Daniel [ 03/Nov/12 ]

It isn't a bug, is ''realistic minecraft''
If you see the dawn in the real life, It's the same

Comment by Nils Drescher [ 03/Nov/12 ]

Also happens in 3rd person view!

Comment by Daedalus Young [ 30/Oct/12 ]

Yes, this is intentional.
