When you right-click on a block that isn't ignitable at that moment, a block update + lightning update are sent to the client. This increases the chunk updates (normal: 90 updates; holding right mouse button: 140 updates) and amount of frames per second. It does trigger a quick lightning flash (blocks around gets lighten up), but this is the frame after reverted. |

It does seem like an issue where unnecessary packets are being sent to Minecraft servers. Maybe it can be fixed in future versions if you post a suggestion. Sorry. |
