I have to agree with Meta on this one, I understand they aren't suppose to attack you and forget about you, but to see them walking slowly, in creative mode only, is quite strange. However I am glad this bug was finally fixed for Survival mode at least, and wanna say thank you and the rest of the Minecraft team for the hard work you guys have been doing and fixing bugs. |

@Mighty Lord Dinnerbone: I know that they won't kepp attacking you in creative, but they at least should not slow down, should they? |

Creative mode is special. They won't keep attacking you and that's intentional. Please try in survival. |

confirmed in creative. |

Zombies still walk slow for me in 12w50b in creative mode, when they come for you for like 5 seconds |

Can confirm for 12w49a. Seems to work better with Zombies, but can't reproduce with both Creepers and Spiders. |

Can confirm for 1.4.5. |

Dunno if this is related, I believe it is, but now that Skeletons can use swords and rush at you, if you hit them, they slow down for a second but speed back up, just like the Wither Skeleton will and the other mobs I listed earlier. However, if they hold a bow, they will move at normal speed and not "bug" out. Started happening in 1.4.4. |

Isnt this gonna be fixed in 1.4.3? This bugged me for a long time now. |

For me this only happens when I use a Knockback sword. |

I know it happens to Creepers, Witches, Zombies, Iron Golems, Wolves, and Wither Skeletons. The Skeleton used to do it but it was oddly fixed in one of the 1.4. snapshots, I believe the one where Dinnerbone made mobs jump down at the player if they would survive the fall. Spiders, Zombie Pigmen, Blazes, anything with the old AI do not suffer from this bug. |

Happens for creepers and zombies, but not for skeletons and spiders here. |

Was this resolved in 1.4.2? |

It's referring to the NPC logic in-game. Grum will be looking into how to solve this. |

'Goal'? Not sure what that is.. Well glad to help and hope its resolved. |

Apparently this is a 'goal' problem. |

Not only 1.4.2 was affected, but from 1.3 |

It'd be nice to see some variation perhaps. I can understand mobs slowing down if say my sword damaged their legs, but a glancing blow could also make them move FASTER as if angered. Imagine having to run from a creeper and being forced to block to save yourself because for a short time, it could out-distance you. Just a random concept. |

This also causes them to cancel their attack on you. I've been able to stand inside a zombie spamming the attack button and they barely attack, if at all. Another extreme example is wolves; spawn a single wolf, go to survival, and hit it. It will slowly follow you but then stop, even if it is still angry, when it should attack you. Glad someone finally reported this bug! |

For a while I thought it was a feature because it was never addressed but then I put 2 and 2 together and figured i should say something |

You didn't see this happen, Grum? For me I just spawned a few zombies, let the follow me, and directly after punching them they would animate like they were walking through a spider web, and move about the same speed. After about 4 seconds, they would return to normal speed. |
| Comment by [Mojang] Grum (Erik Broes) [ 24/Oct/12 ] |
|
Really strange, they do not change speed and it doesn't happen when they fall or are on fire. |

Was able to reproduce on 1.4.2 pre-release, thanks. |
