 Description

I loaded up a new world for 1.4 and got a chopped looking mountain. I think it may be a terrain generation bug

It also appeared to only happen when the icy mountain biome collided with others.

This reminds me when I updated a Beta 1.7.3 world to Beta 1.8.1; some chunks have chopped mountains due to the new terrain generation code.

I've been wondering why minecraft doesn't store the seed in a more secure location than the level.dat file.

Comment by phillips1012 [ 29/Oct/12 ]

It probably is related to that.

Possibly related to MC-315?

Comment by phillips1012 [ 29/Oct/12 ]

It looks like the level.dat file got corrupted (when this happens, the seed gets lost, and superfat maps turn into default)

Comment by Robbie Lee [ 29/Oct/12 ]

What's the seed?

Let me know if you need more pictures and the seed.
