Fix confirmed in 1.4.3 pre

Ok, thanks. (Regular users (non-mods) cannot reopen bugs, we have to Clone instead)

My investigation of this bug has lead me to believe that it's the same bug as MC-100, so I'm closing it as a duplicate now. Re-open the bug report if the problem still occurs in future versions (1.4.3).

Player normal and blackish when hurt while taking multiple screenshots in 3rd person view

Comment by Kumasasa [ 01/Nov/12 ]

@Sycholic: Yes, I turn blackish, but the screenshots are not synchronizable between me and the viewer (always looking normal), so I took some screens in the 3rd-person mode.

Have someone watch you from the side and see if you look like your falling or turn/flash 'blackish' like how entities do.

Zen, thats a good explanation. This explains the issue of falling through the rails when saving & loading the game in MC-221 and the burning in MC-1377

Comment by Zen Gold [ 01/Nov/12 ]

I've had this happening on my rail with only 1 block under it. Each time the FPS goes near 0 (Because the game needs to load chunks and my computer is not really good at it), I take damage. What I think happens is that the game thinks the player "falls" into the 1 block below the track (Because when you are in a minecart, you are slightly inside the block below you) and you take suffocation damage because of that. I believe a temporary solution for this would be to have 2 blocks below the track because that 2nd block should stop your "fall", so your head should never go through the 1st block.

I've created that one kumasasa, and by the way i think that is connected in some way, but i wasn't taking a screenshot as i said

I've added the map file of MC-1377

MC-1377 related ?

Same here, but not taking a screenshot, just lag spikes, death from suffocating in a wall.

Comment by Kumasasa [ 29/Oct/12 ]

It's not primarily the action of taking screenshots, the damage also occurs when minimizing / maximizing the screen with F11.
Maybe that's a matter of peak CPU utilisation while taking screenshots or changing the screen, so that the internal tickers won't keep up.

The directional dependancy Jon turned out may be cause by the render load - if the player looks at the dirt wall may be less to render compared with looking in the open areas.

Strange thing is the inconsistency. Turning different directions can sometimes let you fire off a screenshot without taking damage.

I've attached a world to reproduce that issue.

Load the world, mount the minecart and press F2 and the player will get hurt 1/2 heart.
