| Description |
|
Arrows don't seem to know where to land. An arrow will jump back to where it was released after being shot from a bow. What I expected to happen: The arrow sticking into the wall when it had stopped moving. Here is a video if my explanation was hard to understand: I am very sorry if this is a duplicate. I could not find another report about this problem. |

This has reappeared in 19w03a. Not sure if this is related to the desync bug. |

I don't get it. |

This is because the arrow is hitting the third-person camera, even if your not in third person the arrows can still hit the camera. Funny, even other players can see it too. |

I've noticed this too. But slightly different, maybe. When I shoot an arrow far through the air, and then go to it a while after it lands, I find the arrow floating in mid-air. Weird. And this isn't even with destroying blocks or anything like that. Windows XP, Creative, Java 7 Update 21, 13w16a. |

This issue is also a bug in windows 7 starter. Thou I made a duplicate on this. The arrows are actually always gonna be in mid-air but when you destroy the block where you want to fire it... the arrows will actually gonna fall down but it is in the certain place where it is in the mid-air. When you are firing it on mobs it will actually stick on it but on blocks it doesn't. |

I am having this issue on vista but using a dispenser (shooting at a wooden button) and in creative mode. You can look at my screenshot |

It also occurs on the windows 7 platform in creative. |

This is what's basically happening. Thanks for the explanation. |

I did a little testing with the bow (I'm no expert at testing though) and found generally the more you let the bow get pulled back, the more of a dramatic and instantaneous change in the visual arrow happens. Generally if you just pull back the minimum amount (more or less), the arrow shifts in position just a tiny but, after waiting about a half a second (more or less). If you let the bow pull back all the way or almost all the way, the arrow will almost instantly jump back a couple blocks. Also, I don't think the technical "arrow" is affected by this always, or near as much as the visual arrow. When you pull the bow back all the way, the arrow will jump back, and you can walk straight through the visual arrow you see on the screen, but you don't pick it up until you go to where the arrow was supposed to hit. This was tested in creative with a bow with all enchantments (weapon and armor) and in survival with a plain bow. Again, I'm no expert, and I am sure you have already figured most of this out, but that is what I found. |

Not necessary a nearby wall. It can be rather far away, where arrows which sticks to a wall can pop out of it (or even turn to the opposite direction). Sometimes shot arrows will even just visually "hit air" just right in front of the player, even if you shoot far away or up (should be a similar issue). These things just happen and I can't figure out the specific condition. Mostly a re-login will fix these temporary, but they will reappear randomly. |

It also happens to do so on pistons, repeaters, and wooden buttons. |
