Related to Is this still a concern in the current Minecraft version? If so, please update the affected versions in order to best aid Mojang ensuring bugs are still valid in the latest releases/pre-releases. |

Gravel, while falling, is an entity and not a block. What you're seeing is Minecraft deleting the entity and placing the block. This is going to be very system-dependent, but it's interesting that FireHunterX only experiences it in survival, and not in creative. |

That does seem to be true. Loaded a superflat world. Built a platform 5 blocks above the ground. Placed gravel on the side and it fell. Flickered and then stopped on the ground. Typed /gamemode 1 and tried again. No flicker. Went back into survival with /gamemode 0, and flickered when I tried again. |

I've got Windows 7. But it seems that it only happens in survival mod. |

What are your computer specs? I have had this issue occur on older machines. |
