When using an efficiency V pick with the Haste II effect from a beacon you can mine stone bricks and stone stairs almost instantly, however stone slabs do not seem to be effected by the haste II effect. Not sure if this is intentional or has just been over looked, but seems odd it works on stairs but not slabs. |

Yes slabs take slightly longer to mine. More info can be found here: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Digging#Blocks_by_hardness |
