Paintings are popping out on load and can't replace or place new ones. Important notice please read!!! This issue is fixed in Release version 1.5.1 and thus still existing in version 1.5. |

As FireHunterX mentioned, Mojang has stated that 1.5 clients can still connect to 1.5.1 servers, so that can certainly be the cause. |

You are running version 1.5 , not the latest version 1.5.1 |

Both in creative and in survival, though I only show breaking the block while in survival. The painting vanishes without giving anything about when my hand pulls back from placing it. You can place multiple paintings in the same block, and upon breaking the block (you can't break the paintings) they all appear as items on the ground. |
| Comment by xland44 [ 01/Apr/13 ] |
|
OK, heres five screenshots, somehow I managed to screenshot the painting during the first 0.5 seconds I placed it, before it dissapeared. I'll upload three pictures: Me placing it both in survival and in creative, after me placing it both in survival and in creative, and me breaking the block it was placed on. |

Please attach screenshots with the debug screen (F3) enabled. |

Yeah, I didn't really understand it. I already know that you can connect to 1.5 servers, but what does that have to do with anything? I placed it in 1.5.1 SP, not MP. |

Read the comment three comments above yours. |

Uh, it was fixed? I still experience this bug in 1.5.1 |
| Comment by FireHunterX [ 01/Apr/13 ] |
|
Oh, right. My bad. Also, pretty sure that you can log in to a 1.5 server from 1.5.1 and vice versa. |
| Comment by Kumasasa [ 01/Apr/13 ] |
|
@FireHunterX: 13w11a was the snapshot for 1.5.1, so what's fixed in 13w11a is of course fixed in 1.5.1. |

Retracted: I just did some checking with server-mates, and somehow one person on our server logged in with 1.5.0, even through the server is on 1.5.1. I don't even understand how that can happen, which makes me think they're secretly modding or something. That's probably the cause in my case. Sorry! |
| Comment by FireHunterX [ 01/Apr/13 ] |
|
Fixed in 13w11A. Not 1.5.1. |
| Comment by Workday Lobster [ 01/Apr/13 ] |
|
Ran: I still complain because I am still having it happen, on the current 1.5.1 release. Therefore, it's not completely fixed. |
| Comment by Charlotte Buff [ 01/Apr/13 ] |
|
This bug is already fixed. Why do you complain? |
| Comment by xland44 [ 01/Apr/13 ] |
|
This really sucks, as I just changed how paintings look like on my texture pack, and I cant see how they look like as I have no worlds with paintings (I don't use paintings unless if I'm doing a secret door) |

Still having this issue on a client that has been updated to 1.5.1. Old paintings are visible, new paintings vanish. breaking the block they were placed on causes the drop-item to reappear, but the tile-object of the placed paining is invisible. We're checking to see if the update installed properly, in the meantime. |

The update fixed the problem, thank you! On Sat, Mar 23, 2013 at 3:59 AM, [Mod] Kumasasa (JIRA) < |

Thank you! |

|
Issue is resolved in the latest snapshot, which is going to be for 1.5.1, not 1.5. |
| Comment by Nate Wilson [ 17/Mar/13 ] |
|
Um, it's now Mar 17th, and this issue is NOT resolved. And yes, I installed the official 1.5 release just four days ago. |
| Comment by Charlotte Buff [ 17/Mar/13 ] |
|
That's exactly the point. As you can read at the top if this page, this bug is still present in 1.5. Snapshot 13w11a fixed this issue. |
| Comment by Anne Clift Boris [ 17/Mar/13 ] |
|
I installed the release version 1.5. On Sat, Mar 16, 2013 at 7:54 AM, [Mod] Kumasasa (JIRA) < |

tl;dr ? Did you install the release version 1.5 or snapshot 13w11a ? |
| Comment by Anne Clift Boris [ 16/Mar/13 ] |
|
If the problem is "fixed" why is it still occurring? I just checked, and On Fri, Mar 15, 2013 at 3:17 PM, Daniel "Glampkoo" (JIRA) < |

|
The problem is fixed why are you complaining? |
| Comment by Tails [ 15/Mar/13 ] |
|
You see in the header of this ticket for what version that issue is fixed. |
| Comment by Anne Clift Boris [ 15/Mar/13 ] |
|
This problem is still occurring. Why is it marked 'resolved'? Judging by the comments above does not appear to be resolved for any 1.5 user. Like others commenting here, I installed the 1.5 update post-release. |
| Comment by Pete Frisky [ 15/Mar/13 ] |
|
Using the 13w11a snapshot, placing of painting is possible for me now, have only tested on creative single player though. |

This issue is not resolved I have even re installed minecraft but still having issue |
| Comment by Terri [ 13/Mar/13 ] |
|
This issue is still happening in the main released version of 1.5 |
| Comment by Sealbudsman [ 12/Mar/13 ] |

Likely Lorenzo was addressing Mojang for a resolution of the bug, not the mods for a resolution of the report. |

Thank you, Dinnerbone. |

Confirmed in 1.5pre1 mojang fix this, this is a major problem! |

I am also having this issue in 1.5 pre-release. Item frames work just fine. |
| Comment by Lorenzo Ramalho [ 10/Mar/13 ] |
|
Please, resolve this! |
| Comment by Kienose D. [ 10/Mar/13 ] |
|
I'm gone mad with this bug. |
| Comment by Pete Frisky [ 10/Mar/13 ] |
|
I am getting this issue in the 1.5 pre-release as well. On single player creative. Sometimes the paintings com back on relog, other pre-existing paintings vanishing completely. Checked painting entities with MCedit and the ones I've tried spamming onto the wall were there while others I didn't touch have gone completely. |
| Comment by Justin A Gai [ 09/Mar/13 ] |
|
I found out what was happening in a funny way.. I spam right clicked a block with a painting and it kept disappearing. Then I broke the block and dozens of paintings flew out of it! O_o |
| Comment by Rob [ 09/Mar/13 ] |
|
Confirmed. Creative mode on SMP shows a flicker of a painting and then it disappears. Relogging/restarting does nothing. It simply doesn't exist. |
| Comment by DarkWolff [ 08/Mar/13 ] |
|
On my SMP server one of my paintings disappeared (the Wither painting), though I've had multiples of it elsewhere and they were still there. To test the bug I went into Creative and spammed a painting on that spot to see what would happen. A painting appeared to be placed for a split second then disappeared. Later on when I was walking back through that area I noticed about 30 painting in that spot. I pulled them off the wall and tried placing them again, only to see the flicker again, though they haven't shown up yet like the previous time. |
| Comment by Anonymous User [ 08/Mar/13 ] |
|
On 1.5, painting gets deleted, and not returned to player on MP, even after server restart (so you can't place paintings at all). On SP, they disappear, but they exist, and to see them you just need to relog. |
| Comment by Charlotte Buff [ 08/Mar/13 ] |
|
It seems like only a few paintings actually disappear. I just found a missing one. |
| Comment by Sealbudsman [ 07/Mar/13 ] |
|
When you relog (as Valentijn indicates), or if you unload the chunk by travelling a distance and then you return, previously invisible paintings appear where you have placed them. F3+A (reload chunks) and F3+T (reload texture packs) aren't effective to show the invisible paintings. F3+B shows no visible hitboxes for invisible paintings. |

See my comment at https://mojang.atlassian.net/browse/MC-10662 where i describe my bug |

While all existing paintings in my worlds still are hanging on the walls, I can confirm the inability to place new ones. |

Confirmed. |
