It was optifine. Force update and reinstall all your mods with the new optifine version.

I know this is closed, but if you see this, what mods where you using because I am having the same issue at the moment and can't figure out what mod is causing the issue.

The mods I am using:

OptiFine
Too Many Items
Inventory Tweaks
Rei's Minimap
Scrollable Contols
Show Durability
Status Effect HUD

Closing due to mod issue.

Oh, it was actually my mods. I didn't expect that to happen since I've never had trouble with these mods before, and they are pretty unobtrusive. Thanks.

Does changing other settings work for you?

Also try without mods.
