ISSUE: Current zombie rare drop system makes fighting zombies worthless while skeletons retain pre-1.4.2 drop pattern. THEORY: Zombies suffer from a two-part calculation for their drops: one to spawn with the item and one to actually drop it. SOLUTION: The chance for a zombie to drop the sword or shovel it is currently holding needs to be set to 100% |

It is intentional that there's both a chance to have and a chance to drop. The chance of any given mob dropping an item is roughly the same as before, only now they'll actually wear it + some other mobs may wear it too (but won't drop it). |

I believe that the rare zombies that are carrying items such as a sword, should always drop that item when killed. |
